The past month

This past month we have been trying to get settled here in Colorado Springs, so here is a whole month's worth of pictures...
We stayed in the hotel on Fort Carson while trying to find a place to live. It was hard because with Jaxen in the same room as us, he didn't get very much sleep and niether did we. So we tried to find a place to live as soon as possible! After about a week of looking we finally found a place!
We moved into our new place as soon as we could and had to live there for a couple of days until our household goods arrived. Then it was unpacking for a few days straight, which was fun....NOT. But it feels good to be settled again and we really like our new place, I will post pics soon.
Here is Jaxen at the new place looking out his window on his tip toes :)

After we got settled, Branden's parents brought Kenai to us (he stayed in Utah while we were looking for a place to live). Branden had some leave they gave to him to get settled in so we were able to go and explore the area with his parents.

This place is called The Garden of the Gods, it was really pretty, and the moutain WAY far in the distance is Pikes Peak which you'll see in a second we rode a train to the very tip of it!

Here we are at the top of Pikes Peak, it felt like we were on top of the world! You can see 5 states from up there! The elevation is more than 14,000 feet!

All of us in front of the train we rode up
The view from the top of Pikes peak actually inspired the song America the Beautiful...
I can see why, it was beautiful especially at this time of year with all of the changing leaves!

The next day we checked out these cliff dwellings that are near where we live.

They were really interesting to look through,

although Jaxen disagreed :(

It was fun having Branden's parents here for their short trip, and we...I mean Branden is glad they brought Kenai to us... :)
These are pics from a little hike we went on inthe mountains.

And some of Mr. Jaxen just for fun

He is growing up just way too fast! All he wants to eat is big boy food!

and he does really well at it with his now 5 teeth! Here is the best pic I could get of tooth #5 It is his top right center tooth, in this pic it is the one on the left

Kenai enjoys it here because he live IN the house. Not my idea, but we couldn't find a place with a fenced in backyard that wasn't scary, so I guess he is in the house TEMPORARILY! : ) There is a squirrel that lives in our backyard, so everytime we let him out he chases it up the tree.

And, some more of Jaxen, he is such a busy body! He is 9 months old now, weighs 19 pounds and 9 ounces,  28.25 inches tall, and has kind of a small head. : ) He stands up on everything, eats almost anything, climbs up the whole entire flight of stairs, loves to take baths, still doesn't sleep through the night, loves to be outside, and he absolutely loves his mommy and daddy! Neither of us can leave the room without him crying.

And this Friday Jaxen and I are flying back to Utah for about a month because Branden is going to a 3 week training in Louisiana. Hopefully he will meet us in Utah for Thanksgiving!

Goodbye Utah, Hello Colorado!

Well we have made it to our next duty station...Fort Carson Colorado! We are not sure about the area yet, it is pretty, and we love the mountains, but it has rained a ton since we have been here and we are not used to living in such a big city! It is SO confusing! And we haven't found a for-sure place to live yet, so we are staying in a hotel on post. Here are some pics of our last little bit in Utah and our trip to CO.

How do babies sleep like this? It looks so uncomfortable!

We had family pictures taken with both of our families before we left, here are some of Jaxen I took while we were waiting for the photographer...he has such a cute personality!

A quick family pic with my camera
and we haven't gotten the Bingham family pics back yet from the photographer, I can't wait to see them!

We took the Jacobs/Jones family pics with my camera on a tripod, so this was the best we got...not too bad!

We also had Jaxen blessed while we were in Utah, it was a nice blessing and good to have all of our family there for it.

On our way to Colotado we went a bit out of the way and went to Arches National Park because niether one of us had been there. It was pretty cool!

The infamous delicate arch on the license plate :)

Had to get one of these pics because we had an AK one too :)

And...we made it to Fort Carson!

We'll have to let ya know in a few months if we think it is the best hometown in the Army, haha!

Goodbye AK...Hello UT (for now)!

Okay- This post has a TON of pictures, but most of my posts do because i am not much of a writer, but anyways I just thought I would give you a heads up :)
I also just wanted to say thankyou to all of my friends and ward members in Alaska for taking us in for the 3 years we were up there. It really felt like home, and I am going to miss Alaska and all of the friends I met while we were there. Someday I assure you at least Jaxen and I will come back to visit...you all know how much Branden loved Alaska! :)
And on to the pics...This is Jaxen a couple of days before we left Alaska...the beginning of August, he was just getting into the crawling position on his own at the time.
He also cut two teeth sometime from the end of July to mid August, so at about 6 1/2 months.
So CUTE!
Here is Jaxen and his cousin Carter with their matching onesies! Jaxen thought everything Carter did was Hilarious!
While learning to crawl Jaxen did lots of push-ups...
and head stands...

We had a barbeque with the Jones family

Jaxen loved uncle Jeremy!
The gang
Grandpa Jones and Jaxen
Some pretty black-eyed susans
The friends and I went to dinner
Jaxen sure enjoyed himself...no he really did this just isn't a happy pic
Jaxen and cousin Boston, they're going to be best buds!
Kenai also made it to Utah...unfortunately, J/K! (kinda) On the plus side, Jaxen loves him!
Cousin Branden and Jaxen playing, they will also be best buds!
And as most of you know, we thought branden was lost in Canada for a couple of days, we're glad he's not and that he is okay. He has been helping his brother Blake build his house the whole time we are here.
Jaxen got to go swimming for his first time ever! He absolutely loved it!
Jaxen at the picnic we had with some of my friends
We also had a picnic/hike of our own!
Jaxen putting his feet in the river...
Daddy and Jaxen
Some pretty flowers on our hike
Mommy and Jaxen in front of the waterfall we hiked to
and here is Mr. Jaxen in all his glory! He is crawling everywhere now!
We celebrated Branden's 30th Birthday! I know...I can't believe he is 30 either!
Jaxen loves being outside so much! It doesn't matter what he is doing, but he does love to swing! And check out that stick in his hand, I tried to take it away and he flipped out, so I let him keep it!
We are having lots of fun being in Utah around family, but we are excited to get to our next duty station in Colorado springs at Fort Carson. We leave Utah September 12th. Hopefully we can find a place to live once we get there quick!
Anyways, that's about it for now!
