All Done!

So, I said I wasn't going to do the leaded glass panels for the doors on the bookshelf I built, but I ended up doing them anyways. I just wanted it completely done, I hate unfinished projects, so I took extra precautions and built them in a well ventilated area with a fan blowing the fumes away, and I wore a mask. And they're done, and the bookshelf is complete!

Here is the finished product!

New pictures

We haven't had our pictures taken in about 2 years, so I asked my friend Tirzah if she would take some for us. She did a way good job and I think they turned out cute!
Here are some of my favorites...

Of course Branden had to have Kenai in some of them!

Which ones are your favorites?
I don't know which ones to print up, I like them all!
Thanks again Tirzah you are the best!

Half way!!! & Hike to Thunderbird Falls

Today I am 20 weeks!! I can't believe I am half the way there!! I can't wait to meet our baby! My big ultrasound is next Thursday Sept. 2nd, and we are so excited to hopefully find out what we are having! Then I can finally start shopping!
Also, my friend Tirzah took some family pictures for us, one of them is up top in my header, they turned out way cute! I will post the rest later!
This past week there was actually a few days of REALLY good weather, so we tried to take advantage and do some things outside.
Here are some pics from our hike to Thunderbird Falls.

It was about a 2 mile hike, which is do-able for me, any longer and I probably wouldn't have made it. We brought Kenai with us, he did pretty good, he got tired too and slept the whole way back in the car. It was fun to be outside, definitely the perfect day for a hike!

Almost Done...

I started making this bookshelf in April and I am just now getting it finished. We just needed a bigger bookshelf and rather than buying one I chose the hard way and decided to build one. So, I came up with a design, bought the wood, and went to the woodshop on base and made it...with lots of assistance from the master carpenter. I had decided to stain it black before I knew I was pregnant and bought all the stuff to do that, but ended up having Branden stain it so I wouldn't breathe the fumes. He stained it, but he has never stained anything before so it didnt turn out very good. So it sat in the garage for a few months til I decided what to do with it, and I finally ended up sanding it down a little and painted it black. I think it turned out pretty good, now I just need to finish the leaded glass panels I decided to put in the doors, but it may be a while because I can't make them while I'm pregnant, unless I teach Branden how to do it! But for now the doors are just open. Here are some before and after pics.

Our New Puppy Kenai

Branden has been wanting a dog for a LONG time, so I guess I finally gave in based on one condition....it stays in the garage! It seems like kind of a crazy time to get a new puppy with expecting our baby in a little over 4 months, but Branden insisted. I must say he has been a pretty good puppy so far, and he is cute as heck! Especially his blue eyes!
We named him Kenai because we wanted to something Alaskan,
I know it is a little over-done, but I still think it is cute and fits him.

Anyways, we'll see how it goes!

Alaska July 2010

I haven't done a post in a while, we have been pretty busy doing lots of different stuff. Just busy with life I guess. I am now a little over 17 weeks pregnant and we can't wait to find out what we are having hopefully around 20 weeks. I have an appointment tomorrow that I am excited for, we'll probably just hear the heart beat but I love hearing it and could listen to it all day! Here are some pics of some of our July activities.
Here we are at the Bear Paw festival parade in Eagle River.
Branden's brother Blake and his wife Melissa and their 6 week old baby Boston came and visited us for about 8 days, we did a ton of fun things while they were here. Just to warn you there are a TON of pictures on this post!
First, we went camping and fishing at the Russian river along with some other friends. We had so much fun, but failed to catch any salmon, I think we just have bad luck fishing!

Mommy Melissa and baby Boston

Branden fell in the ice cold river and filled his weighters up with water! It was pretty funny, but scary at the same time, I thought he was going to drown for a few seconds!

Some more cute pics of Boston!

The last day Blake and Melissa were here we drove to the Matanuska glacier and walked around on it, it was amazing! One of the coolest things I have ever seen! Here are some pictures while we were at the glacier

Thanks for coming guys we had a blast! We will miss you!
