A little too early...

This past Sunday, I was having contractions 2 minutes apart that wouldn't stop, so I called the hospital and they said to come in. They hooked me up to these monitors, one for the baby's heart rate and one to monitor the contractions. They gave me a shot in the arm that is supposed to stop the contractions, which it did stop them for a little bit, but they came back. Next, they gave me a shot in the thigh that was some sort of muscle relaxant that was supposed to help them stop, it didn't work. Then, they gave me another shot the same as the first, again it worked for a little while and they wore off and the contractions were coming back. So, they ended up releasing me after being there for six hours because there was no cervical change, so the contractions werent putting me into labor. Anyways, they eventually went away sometime during the night while I was sleeping, but it was crazy...and I HATE shots, and now I have a new found hate...getting your cervix checked...OUCH! But, I'm glad the contractions went away because 28 weeks is too early to have our baby! Plus, I am flying to Utah on Monday! Here is a horrible cellphone picture Branden took of me in the hospital, cute huh....NOT! And those bands make my belly look huge, it really isn't that big!

27 Weeks!

WOW. - that's all I have to say about that.

I can't believe I am 27 weeks pregnant! It seems to be going by pretty fast now, I had another appointment today, its been almost 6 weeks since my last one and I have gained 6 pounds since then for a grand total of about 9-10 pounds total weight gain so far, with a 35" tummy circumference. I also took the glucose test this week which wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, and the results turned out just fine. The baby's heart rate was 143, and man I think he is growing fast now! He sure does move around and kick alot! Symptoms I am still dealing with is my constant sciatic pain which most nights prevents me from sleeping well--they gave me a belly support band today which is supposed to help...we'll see. Also, the whole pregnancy I haven't been able to be the passenger in a car, I have to be the one driving or I get nauseous...annoying. One more thing, my whole tummy hurts-like it is stretching all my ligaments to the max, this only happens sometimes. But overall I really don't think I have had it bad at all, I feel pretty good most of the time.

Anyways, I am so excited to come to Utah in a little over a week!! I just wish Branden could come too, he has to stay and do training in the cold...poor guy :(

Getting ready for baby!

So, I know I still have 15 weeks left, but I am so excited that I already have a lot of stuff ready! I think I am already in "nesting" mode. The past couple of weeks I have been working on making crib bedding and stuff, and I finished it up on Saturday! It turned out exactly how I wanted! I love it, and can't wait til I can put our precious little baby in his crib!

I also found this changing table on craigs list for $35 that I painted black (of course....I paint everyhting black, I know I'm boring), anyways I painted the knobs periwinkle blue to match and found a changing pad cover to match.

Another New Nephew!

We have another new nephew! Branden's sister Cyndi and her husband Judd had their baby boy this morning, he is their first baby. They named him after Branden! He is so cute! Here he is!

22 Weeks!

I had another doctor's appointment today, and I am 22 weeks now. This appointment he basically just told me that the blood tests for the diferent diseases and stuff were all negative and that the ultrasound looked good, so basically our baby boy seems to be perfectly healthy! Some other stats for my records: total wieght gain so far 4 pounds, baby's heart rate 136, tummy circumference 33". I'm not looking forward to the next appointment for one reason...I have to do the test for gestational diabetes, so I have to drink some nasty stuff and then get my blood drawn.

Other than that, I am having fun shopping for the baby, and trying to get everything ready, even though I have 3 more months! I'm excited also because I found some cute fabric that I am going to make the crib bedding out of! Anyways, here is a belly shot....I think this picture looks bigger than I really am...maybe not, I don't know! But he sure has grown a lot since my 18 week picture which I put below for comparison, and I haven't put that picutre on here yet.

It feels SO good to finally know what we are having!!!

The ultrasound tech couldn't tell us much, but everything looked okay to me. I have an appointment next week and the doctor will go over everything then.
But now I can start shopping!! Actually I already bought some stuff today = )

Branden's Birthday!

Yesterday was Branden's 29th Birthday! Crazy, I can't believe he is that old!

I feel bad because monday night he had to sleep outside for military training and he didn't get back until 10:00PM last night, so we didn't get to do anything for his birthday. We did celebrate his birthday a little bit on Sunday with our friends the Davis', they invited us over for dinner and I just made him a cake and we sang to him and played Zarahemla.

I think Branden might have a 4 day weekend this weekend so hopefully we can celebrate more this weekend. And we find out what we are having tomorrow, so we can celebrate that too!!!
